About Dr. Kherada
Nisharahmed Kherada, MD, FACC, FSCAI, RPVI, is board certified in internal medicine, clinical hypertension, general cardiology, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular interpretation. Dr. Kherada currently serves as the Section Chief of Cardiology for Memorial Hospital Pembroke.
Dr. Kherada received his medical degree from the B.J. Medical College (Gujarat University) in India and later conducted basic science cardiovascular research at The Ohio State University. He then moved to the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas to complete his residency in internal medicine. He conducted advanced cardiovascular research at Icahn School of Medicine in New York along with a specialized fellowship in clinical hypertension. He then proceeded to complete his fellowship in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, where he also served as chief cardiology fellow.
Dr. Kherada performs cardiac coronary artery angioplasty and stenting especially via an advanced low-risk radial artery approach from the arm. He also performs lower extremity Peripheral arterial angioplasty/stenting and varicose vein laser ablation. Additionally, Dr. Kherada has specialized skills in Structural Heart interventions including Valvuloplasty and TAVR (non-surgical replacement of narrow aortic valve). Presently, he is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and eligible for a society of cardiovascular angiography and intervention (SCAI).
